James Madison University is committed to fostering openness with the public and members of the media in processing FOIA requests. The intent of this website is to create an easy process for making and responding to requests. JMU releases records pursuant to Code of Virginia 2.2-3704 and individuals may be charged the actual cost of responding to a request for records. Information or records exempt under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and/or protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act may be redacted or withheld from responses made to FOIA requests.
